The Water and Sewer Department is owned and operated by the City of Momence. Mark Nelson has been the Superintendant since 2008. The department consists of 1 part-time and 4 full-time employees, including a lab technician.

Each year, the Illinois EPA issues a Water Quality Report for each municipality, which must be published and available to the public.

 

 

Water Rates (May 2022)
Base rate : $31.60
Each 1000 gallons: $2.00

Sewer Rates
Base rate: $25.88
Each 1000 gallons: $2.41

Southside Water Line Charge
$7.00

 Per Ordinance 871 There shall be an annual rate review and likely increase to be effective May 1st of each calendar year. In the event the annual rate review is not completed by May 1st of each calendar year, the rate will nonetheless increase by three percent (3%) and shall remain in that amount for the next twelve months unless another fee is established and this section amended.

In addition to online, mail, and in-person payment options, the City will be implementing a new plan for email delivery of water bills and automatic payment from your checking or savings account. If you want to participate in this program, please fill out either or both of the forms shown below. Check back for the exact date the new program will take effect.


 

Attention Landlords: A new form regarding water/sewer payments must be filled out and signed for each rental property, then returned to City Hall.
