ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCEREGULATINGGOLFCARTS
ANDWORK/UTILITYVEHICLESWITHINTHECITYLIMITS
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the
safety andwell beingof its citizens, inhabitants, and all other persons
within theCity limits of theCityofMomence, Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has considered the fact
thatwork/utilityvehicles should be added to the golf cart ordinance; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCity
Code, specificallyunder a portion of theCode known asTitle 8, Chapter
4, Section 20.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence,
Illinois as follows:
SECTION1:
That Title 8, Chapter 4, Section 20, of theCityCodeof theCityof
Momence, Illinois ishereby repealed.
SECTION2:
That there is herebyadded to theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois
the followingparagraphunder and in substitution for Title 8, Chapter 4,
Section 20, of theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois hereinabove
repealed.

(A)Definitions:
GolfCarts:
Amotorized vehiclewith three (3) or four (4)wheels that is not
designed to be operated at a speed ofmore than twenty five (25)miles per hour,
andwhose purpose can include, but is not limited to, the playingof golf and is
generallydesigned to carrypersons including the driver.
Work /UtilityVehicles:
All terrain vehicles used primarily forwork and utility
functions andmust include seatswith seat belts, steeringwheels and other
required equipment. Examples are: JohnDeereGators, KawasakiMules, Polaris
Ranger, YamahaRhino, HondaBigRed, etc.
Street:
The entire right ofwaywidth and between the curb boundary lines,
shoulder, or swale of public propertywhen anypart thereof is open to the use of
