Funding. Three bidswere received: KankakeeValleyConstructionCompany at $1,488,379,
WesternUtility at $1,729,445 andH. LindenandSons at $2,222,510. AldermanNovaMetzmadea
motion to approve the lowest bid fromKankakeeValleyConstructionCompany at $1,488,379,
contingent on loan approval from the IEPA. AldermanDenton seconded themotionwithAldermen
Denton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesynaand JohnMetz voting yes.
Alderman JohnMetz stated that the abandoned house locateda half blockwest of his
property onRiver Street has not beenmowed yet and he asked if theCity is putting liens against
this property. Mayor Porter stated that theCity assess fines, which then goes to IllinoisDebt
RecoveryProgram; liens cannot beput in debt recovery. This property is in foreclosure.

TREASURERREPORT–Treasurer BeckyPeterson stated that the income andexpense report has
a couple negatives under expenditures, general fund, onpage 3whichwill need tobe looked into.
MAYORALREPORT
Discuss andVote on seekingbids for Gladiola road repairs. Replaced sewer line 2 years ago
on east side of Gladiola and placedanadditional storm line. Request made for Council to approve
solicitingbids for the resurfacingof two blocks onGladiola from114 toOregon. Funding to come
from sewer depreciation and does not need tobe sent to IDOT (not usingMFT funds). Alderman
Cookmade amotion to approve solicitingbids for two block radius onGladiola from114 toOregon
Street. AldermanDenton seconded themotionwithAldermenDenton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele,
Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz voting yes.
