APPROVALOFPREVIOUSMEETINGMINUTES
AldermanCookmadeamotion toapprove theRegular, ExecutiveandClosedSessionMinutes of
theAugust 17, 2015, Council Meetingas presented. AldermanKupferer seconded themotionwith
AldermenDenton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Kupferer, Cook, Lesynaand JohnMetz voting yes. Alderman
Steelepassed.
APPROVALOFTHEBILLS
Thebillswerediscussedat tonight'sBudget andFinanceCommitteeMeeting. AldermanDenton
madeamotion toapprove thebills for payment. AldermanLesyna seconded themotionwithAldermen
Denton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesynaand JohnMetz voting yes.
CITIZENFORUM
JayKerouac questionedCouncil regarding theCity’sEngineeringFirm. Of which, Baxter
Woodmanwasn’t reappointed. Whowas responsible for recent ad, Mayor Porter statedengineering firm
of TysonEngineeringwas responsible. Mr. Kerouac stated that theOrdinance clearly states that
advertisement shouldbepublished for 3weeks and that all proposals shall beopenedby theCityClerk
inpresenceof theCouncil.
JohnCrawfordaddressedCouncil regarding followupof handicapparkingarea signs. Mayor
Porter stated that oneof his neighbors is in theaudience. Scott Behrends andChief Cavender have
bothbeen to the location. Chief Cavender stated that thereare certain requirements for handicap
parking (paintingof pavement, etc.,) andhebelieves that thearea is not conducive. Chief wouldnot
recommendhandicapparkingarea signs at this location. It was stated that the situation should beable
tobeworkedout withneighbors. Chief will discuss further withowner andneighbors.
MaryCantwell addressedCouncil requestingpermission toput up fall decorations downtown for
MainStreet Momence. AldermanCookmadeamotion toapproveMainStreet puttingup fall
decorations. AldermanKupferer seconded themotion. Motion carriedwith8Ayes and0Nays.
