Scott Behrends statedhebelieves floodinghas beeneliminatedonFranklin. They are still
workingon theSouthside. Scott has been in touchwith the residents on the southside. Hehas found
catchbasin for access point, thewater has gonedownand theywill get the camera in to investigate
further. Salt price is down this year.
Chief Cavender stated that they have received a check from state for reimbursement for academy
training. Department isworkingon south side/Mill Street complaints about residents leavinggarbage
cans at curb. Letters havebeenpassedout and they are seeking compliance.
Chief met withSheriff Bukowski regarding federallymandatednew technology. Sheriff's
Department has newMotorolahandheld radios availableat 1/2price and is offering them to
municipalities in the county. Chief requested that the council consider purchasing12 radios at a total
cost of 44,000withprogramming tobedoneby the county at no cost. Concernswere raisedabout the
possibility of the radios beingobsoletewithin3-4 yearswhen themandatemust be fully complied. Chief
stated the radios inquestionwill be fully functional for at least 15-20 years. Consensus of the council
was tonot purchase radios at this time, due to cost and thewindowof 3-4 years before radios are
required tobe in service.

MAYORALREPORT
Resolutionapprovingan Intergovernmental Agreement with theStateof Illinois andappropriating
funds for theWashingtonStreetscape ImprovementsProject. Resolution#177was passed in July,
resolutionagreed toappropriate for streetscapingusing ITEPFunds andGeneral RevenueFunds.
Since July, IDOT informed them onestimates, going tobe substantiallymore than thought. Increased
ITEPGrant $60,000and sent a resolution for theCity topass. They’vegivenusmoregrant money.
AldermanCookmadeamotion toapprovean Intergovernmental Agreement with theStateof Illinois
appropriating funds for theWashingtonStreetscape ImprovementsProject. AldermanDenton seconded
themotionwithAldermenDenton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesynaand JohnMetz
