Roll was called by theClerkwithAldermenDenton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer,
Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz present. Alsopresent wasMayorMickPorter.
APPROVALOFPREVIOUSMEETINGMINUTES
AldermanCookmade amotion toapprove theRegular Sessionminutes of the July 20, 2015,
Council Meetingas presented. AldermanKupferer seconded themotionwithAldermenDenton,
Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz voting yes.
APPROVALOFTHEBILLS
The billswere discussed at tonight'sBudget andFinanceCommitteeMeeting. Alderman
Dentonmade amotion to approve the bills for payment. AldermanNovaMetz seconded themotion
withAldermenDenton, Navratil, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz voting
yes.
CITIZENFORUM
JohnLopez addressedCouncil with several issues/questions regarding the Southside
flooding that occurred several weeks ago: He questionedwhendid theCity actually separate the
storms from sewers on theSouthside. BrendaSpoonandScott Behrends toldhim that it sounds
like the sewer is connected towater lines. As of right now there is still water running in those lines
and they areunable to viewwith camera at this time. Healso asked that if thewater line is
connected to the storm line is that theCity’s fault andhas theCity of Momencepaid for any flood
related garbage tobe removed fromproperty. AlliedWaste donated two dumpsters tobeplacedon
City property, no residential. ChadGessner, Illinois local branchof FEMA, came to theCity asking
for infoon flooding; Mayor submitted homeowners’ information toChad alongwith costs that theCity
incurredwith possible reimbursement for some of the costs. Mr. Lopez asked if theCitywas aware
that they have hadawater leak there for almost a year. Mayor Porter stated that hewas unaware.
