The billswere discussed at tonight'sBudget andFinanceCommitteeMeeting. Alderman
Straleymade amotion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Kupferer seconded themotion
withAldermenDenton, Straley, NovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz voting
yes.

Lori Simpson fromMomenceGladFestival Board requestedMayor Porter present theboard’s
request for use theEast River Street parking lot and other areas onSunday,August 11. Alderman
Kupferermade amotion toapproveGladFestival Board's request asmentionedabove. Alderman
NovaMetz seconded themotion. Motion carriedwith 8Ayes 0Nays.
DonnaYoungaddressedCouncil requestinguse of space, sameas last year, by the foot
bridge for HCE (HomeCommunity andEducation) during theGladiolus Festival during the flea
market. Theywill be selling raffle tickets for aquilt with benefits going to scholarship fundand to
other things. AldermanNovaMetzmade amotion to approveHCE request asmentioned above.
