TREASURERREPORT–Treasurer BeckyPeterson. Still workingwithTyler Technologies, not
goingwell. Still has payroll account todo. ContactedBobHamill, hehas lookedover the system,
hewants access toTyler, shewould like to have him help her. Inorder to reconcile an account, she
has to do it by hand. Learning curve is huge, is going to take serious intention. Tyler Technologies
does take careof her when she calls. Mayor Porter suggested she contact othermunicipalities to
see if they canhelp. Becky stated she needs assistance. AldermanLesyna asked about City funds
depositedover $250,000. Auditors concur withBecky that government backed securities other than
municipal bondswhich aremoreat risk. State statute allowsmunicipal bonds to beused as
collateral. City needs to findother investments fromother institutions or banks listed in ordinance.
Whenamount of deposit exceeds $250,000 then they are insuredonly for $250,000. Questionwas
to usemunicipal bonds that abank has as part of collateral. State statute allows but ordinance does
not. Better collateral if federally backed. Bank is theone requesting change, they canmakemore
money onmunicipal bonds.
