DEPARTMENTHEADREPORTS
JeannieBlanchette, in theCityOffice, reported that therehave beendrastic computer
problems -- crypt locker virus. Mayor Porter explained how these virus canoperate. TheCity isOK
until September 13, 2014. TheCity has “backup”. The newmachines arebeing loadedwith all the
information toavoid problems.
Scot Behrends, Director of PublicWorks, reported that the department hasmorebills than
normal -- repair, hoses, different things needed for plowingbecauseof the area’s nastyweather.
TheCity is probablyOK for salt. There have been sixwater leaks in the last threeweeks.
PoliceChief Cavender requestedExecutiveSession, not to come out and do business.
MAYORALREPORT
TheCouncil had agreed onmedia franchise renewal. Last time it had been for 5 years. Ald.
Cookmade themotion towrite the contract for a 3 year term. Ald. Kupferer seconded. All
Councilmen voted yes.
The owner of the billboard located south of theCity limits is seekinga permit from theCounty
to reconstruct thebillboardat the curve out of town. Noobjections fromCityCouncil with owner
receivingCounty permit.
Ald. Kupferermade themotion to go intoExecutiveSession. Ald. Steel seconded themotion
with allAldermen voting yes. Council went out of Regular Sessionat 7:50P.M. AldermanStraley
exited themeeting via teleconference. Council returned toRegular Sessionat 7:54P.M.
Ald. Kupferermade themotion toadjourn. Themotionwas seconded byAld. Cookwith Ald.
Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna, and JohnMetz voting yes.
Council adjourned at 7:55P.M.
