ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCEREGULATINGDRIVINGOR
RIDINGONSIDEWALKSWITHINTHECITYLIMITS
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the safety and
well beingof its citizens, inhabitants, and all other personswithin theCity limits of theCityof
Momence, Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has established an ordinance
concerningdrivingor ridingonCity sidewalks; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has considered the fact that
operatingmotorized vehicles, bicycles, rollerblades, and skateboardswill at times, jeopardize the
safety andwelfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCityCode,
specificallyunder a portion of theCode known asTitle 7, Chapter 1, Section 9, and the portion
of theCityCode known asTitle 8, Chapter 4, Section 13.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois as
follows:
SECTION1:
ThatTitle 7, Chapter 1, Section 9, entitled “DRIVINGOVERSIDEWALKS” of
theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois ishereby repealed.
SECTION2:
ThatTitle 8, Chapter 4, Section 13, “RIDINGONSIDEWALKS” of theCityCode
of theCityofMomence, Illinois is hereby repealed.
SECTION3:
That there is herebyadded to theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois the
followingparagraphunder and in substitution forTitle 8, Chapter 4, Section 13, of theCityCode
of theCityofMomence, Illinois hereinabove repealed.
8-4-13:DRIVINGORRIDINGONSIDEWALKS:
(A)No personmayuse or operate a scooter,motorized bicycle, or anymotorized vehicle, upon a
City sidewalk in the business district (8-4-19-C).
