ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDLINANCECONCERNINGTHECITY
OFMOMENCE’SSTREETS/ALLEYSANDMAINTENANCEDEPARTMENT
HEAD
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois is chargedwith the
continued administration and oversight ofCityorganization.
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has determined that the
CityCode should be amended.
NOWTHEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence,
Illinois, as follows:
SECTION1:
That Title 7, Chapter 11, Section 3, of theCityCodeof theCityof
Momence, Illinois ishereby repealed.
SECTION2:
That there is herebyadded to theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois
the following sectionunder and in substitution forTitle 7, Chapter 11,
Section 3, of theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois hereinabove
repealed.
7-11-3:DEPARTMENTHEADOFSTREETS/ALLEYSANDMAINTENANCE
(A)OfficeCreated: There is created the office of superintendent of streets/alleys and
maintenance, who shall be appointed each year by themayor, with the approval
of the city council.
(B)Director of PublicWorks as Streets/Alleys andMaintenanceDepartmentHead:
At the discretion of theMayor, andwith the approval of theCityCouncil, the
Director of PublicWorksmaybe appointed each year to perform the duties of the
DepartmentHead of Streets/Alleys andMaintenance.
(C) PowersAndDuties:
1. The superintendent of streets/alleys andmaintenance shall be responsible for the
administration of all streets/alleys andmaintenance issues in the cityofMomence,
Illinois.
