ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCECONCERNINGREPAIROF
VEHICLESONCITYPROPERTYANDRESIDENTIALAREAS
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the
safety andwell beingof its citizens, inhabitants, and all other persons
travelingon the streetswithin theCity limits of theCityofMomence,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityofMomence, Illinois, has determined that an ordinance concerning
repair of vehicles onCityproperty and residential areas should be
amended; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCity
Code, specificallyunder a portion of theCode known asTitle 5, Chapter
5, Section 6, titled “
REPAIROFVEHICLEONCITYPROPERTY
PROHIBITED”.
NOWTHEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence,
Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That Title 5, Chapter 5, Section 6, titled
“REPAIROFVEHICLEON
CITYPROPERTYPROHIBITED”
of theCityCode of theCityof
Momence, Illinois, is hereby repealed
.
SECTION 2:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence,
Illinois, under and in substitution for Title 5, Chapter 5, Section 6, titled
REPAIROFVEHICLEONCITYPROPERYANDRESIDENTIAL
AREASPROHIBITED
.
5-5-6:REPAIROFVEHICLESONCITYPROPERTYANDRESIDENTIAL
AREASPROHIBITED:
(A)No individual shall bring anymotor vehicle ontoCityproperty and cause the
repairingor overhaulingof said vehicle in any fashionwhile onCityproperty.
(B)No individual shallmake any repairs of automotive vehicles as defined in
MomenceCityCode 9-2-1 in a residential district unless such vehicle is
registered to the address that the repairs are beingmade.
(C)Any automotivemajor orminor repairs (as defined inMomenceCityCode 9-2-1)
not completed in the twenty-four (24) hour time periodmust be stored or repaired
in a garage or similar shelter away from public view.
