ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCEREGARDING
GARBAGECOLLECTIONFEES
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has established anordinance concerning
garbage collection fees; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCity ofMomence, Illinois, has determined the new contract with
Republic Services should be updated in theCityCodeBook; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCityCode,
specifically under a portionof theCode known asTitle 6, Chapter 3, Section22, SubsectionA, titled
“GARBAGECOLLECTIONFEE”.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That Title 6, Chapter 3, Section 22, SubsectionA, of theCityCode of theCityofMomence,
Illinois, is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois, inTitle 6,
Chapter 3, Section 22, SubsectionA, titled “GARBAGECOLLECTIONFEE”.
6-3-22GARBAGECOLLECTIONFEE:
(A)
For the collectionof garbage, the owners of each and every lot, parcel of real estate, or building
that is connectedwith the city’s sewer systemor otherwise discharges sanitary sewage, water or
other liquids, either directlyor indirectly, into the sewer of the cityofMomence, shall pay a fixed
charge permonth for garbage collection as follows:
1.
Fifteendollars, ninety seven cents ($15.97) commencing June 1, 2016 toMay31, 2017;
2.
Sixteen dollars, forty five cents ($16.45) commencing June 1, 2017, toMay31, 2018;
3.
Sixteendollars, ninety four cents ($16.94) commencing June 1, 2018, toMay31, 2019;
4.
Seventeendollars, forty five cents ($17.45) commencing June 1, 2019, toMay31, 2020;
5.
Seventeendollars, ninety seven cents ($17.97) commencing June 1, 2020, toMay31,
2021;
6.
Eighteendollars, fiftyone cents ($18.51) commencing June 1, 2021, toMay31, 2022;
7.
Nineteendollars, seven cents ($19.07) commencing June 1, 2022, toMay31, 2023;
8.
Nineteendollars, sixty four cents ($19.64) commencing June 1, 2023, toMay31, 2024;
9.
Twentydollars, twenty three cents ($20.23) commencing June 1, 2024, toMay31, 2025;
10.
Twentydollars, eighty four cents ($20.84) commencing June 1, 2025, toMay31, 2026;
SECTION 3:
The provisions and sections of this ordinance shall be deemed separable and the invalidityof
anyportionof this ordinance shall not affect the validityof the remainder
SECTION 4:
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and
publication as required by law.
