ANORDINANCECONCERNINGLATEREGISTRATIONOFGOLF
CART/UTILITY/OFFHIGHWAYVEHICLES
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois is chargedwith the continued administration and
oversight of theCityCodeBook; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois is concerned about the efficient use of police and
CityHall personnel; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois intends to encourage citizens to register their golf
cart/utility/off highwayvehicles on a regular basis; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCityCode, specificallyunder a
portionof theCode that will be known as Title 8, Chapter 4, Section20, SubsectionC..
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That Title 8, Chapter 4, Section 20, SubsectionC, of theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois,
is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois, inTitle 8, Chapter 4,
Section 20, SubsectionC titled “GOLFCARTS/UTILITYVEHICLES”.
8-4-20:GOLFCARTS/UTILITYVEHICLES:
(C) License; Registration: All golf cart/utility/off highwayvehicles shall be licensed annually, duringdesignated
times in themonthofMay, at the police department. Requirements for registering vehicles include, showingproof
of ownership, proof of insurance, allmunicipal bills/fines paid, and all appropriate forms completed. In the course of
registration, the owner shall pay a nonrefundable fee of twenty five dollars ($25.00). The annual license shall be
considered expired should the owner of a golf cart/utility/off highway vehicle, not register said vehicle at the
designated times inMay. The expired license registration nonrefundable feewill be fiftydollars ($50.00). The
nonrefundable registration feewill be twenty five dollars ($25.00)with a dated, proof of purchase document, for any
golf cart/utility/off highwayvehicles purchased during the fiscal year thereof.
SECTION 3:
The provisions and sections of this ordinance shall be deemed separable and the invalidityof any
portion of this ordinance shall not affect the validityof the remainder.
SECTION 4
: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, adoption, and publication in
pamphlet form, as required by law.
