ANORDINANCECONCERNINGCHARGESANDPENALTIESFORWATERAND
SEWERAGESERVICE
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois is chargedwith the continued administration and
oversight of theCityCodeBook; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois is concerned about the late payment for water and
sewer service; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois intends to have payments not paidwithin fifty (50)
days be paid in full; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCityCode, specificallyunder a
portionof theCode that will be known as Title 7, Chapter 5, Section8.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That Title 7, Chapter 5, Section8, of theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois, is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 2:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois, inTitle 7, Chapter 5,
Section 8, titled “DISCONTINUESERVICE”.
CHAPTER 5
COMBINEDWATERWORKSANDSEWERAGESYSTEM
7-5-8:DISCONTINUESERVICE:
If all charges and penalties forwater and sewerage service, or either of them are not paidwithin
fifty (50) days after the rendition of the bill for such service, then such service can be
discontinuedwithout further notice and cannot be reinstated until all bills and penalties due
thereon are paid in full, and current. Apayment of one hundred dollars ($100.00) is due for
service reinstatement. Should same owner have all charges and penalties forwater and sewerage
service, or either of them not paidwithin be fifty (50) days recur, then the service reinstatement
fee shall increase an additional one hundred dollars ($100.00) per occurrence.
SECTION 3:
The provisions and sections of this ordinance shall be deemed separable and the invalidityof any
portionof this ordinance shall not affect the validityof the remainder.
SECTION 4
: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, adoption, and publication in
pamphlet form, as required by law.
