          TREASURERREPORT–Treasurer BeckyPeterson.  Posted theautomatic expenditures and
        
        
          deposits throughendof year,miscellaneous charges and earned interest.  Sales tax for October
        
        
          over $40,000.  Expenditures andRevenues report was distributed.  City is doingwell with keeping
        
        
          within budget.
        
        
          PublicComment at this time:  Jane Johnson spoke toCouncil about trying to stop the
        
        
          demolitionof RangeSchool.  It is zoned for public use, schools, parks and cemeteries.  It was asked
        
        
          if torndown or sold, thenwhowould be responsible for the upkeep.  The school would, however,
        
        
          school district budget is in adeficit.  School condensed because can’t afford to keep andmaintain.
        
        
          Reality is thiswould be taking tax dollars from children’s' education.  City doesn’t own property.
        
        
          MomenceSchool District proposed saleappears to be fiscally responsible. Building is no longer of
        
        
          use to the school district.  Group is trying to find another use for thebuilding.  LakotaGroup,
        
        
          independent planners, suggest that Caseys is typically on outside of town, DixieHwy. is amain
        
        
          corridor through communitywhich is commercial.  Saleof propertywould result in getting the
        
        
          property on the tax rolls.  Theonly offer for the property purchase has come fromEdVanDrunen.
        
        
          The property has beenadvertised for sell by theSchool District.  Ameetingwill be hostedby Jane
        
        
          Johnson to discuss further on January 27 at theMethodist Church.
        
        
          MAYORALREPORT
        
        
          Discussed priorities for next year, includingAshSt RailroadCrossing improvement in
        
        
          partnershipwith the ICC, IDOTandNorfolkRailroad.  Alsoprioritize getting repairs done to
        
        
          streetlights, which need new conduit andwiringunder the sidewalks.
        
        
          EXECUTIVESESSION
        
        
          AldermanKupferermade amotion toenter intoExecutiveSession todiscuss employment
        
        
          and compensationwith thepotential of actions onmatters discussed in closed session.   Alderman
        
        
          NovaMetz seconded themotionwithAldermenNovaMetz, Steele, Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and
        
        
          JohnMetz voting yes.  Council entered intoExecutiveSession at 8:25P.M; returned fromExecutive
        
        
          Sessionat 8:45P.M.
