ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCEREGARDINGSTOP
INTERSECTIONS
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has established
ordinances concerning stop, yield intersections, and through streets; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the
safety andwell beingof its citizens, inhabitants, and all other persons
travelingon the streetswithin theCity limits of theCityofMomence,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has considered the fact
that vehicles should come to a complete stop at the intersection ofRiver
Street andVirdenStreet; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCity
Code, specificallyunder a portion of theCode known asTitle 8, Chapter
3, Section 2, SubsectionC, titled “Threeway stop Intersections”.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence,
Illinois as follows:
SECTION 1:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence the
following subsection under Title 8, Chapter 3, Section 2, SubsectionC:
8-3-2:
STOP INTERSECTIONSDESIGNATED:
It shall be unlawful to drive
anyvehicle into the intersections of the followingnamed streetswithout
first bringing suchvehicle to a complete stop.

Three-wayStop Intersections:
VirdenStreet, south, enteringRiver Street, andRiver Street, west,
enteringVirdenStreet
SECTION 2:
The provisions and sections of this ordinance shall be deemed separable
and the invalidityof anyportion of this ordinance shall not affect the validityof the
remainder.
SECTION 3:
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval, andpublication as required by law.
