ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCEREGULATINGTHE
REGISTRATIONFEEANDHEIGHT,WEIGHT, ANDSEATRESTRICTONS
OFGOLFCARTS/UTILITY/OFFHIGHWAYVEHICLESWITHINTHECITY
LIMITS
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the safety andwell being
of its citizens, inhabitants, and all other personswithin theCity limits of theCityof
Momence, Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has considered the fact
that the golf cart/utility/off highway vehicle registration fee should be paid at the place of
inspection, and height, weight, and seat restrictions should be addressed; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend the CityCode,
specifically under a portionof theCode known asTitle 8, Chapter 4, Section20,
SubsectionC, andTitle 8, Chapter 4, Section20, SubsectionB, Paragraph 5.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois as follows:
SECTION1:
That Title 8, Chapter 4, Section20, SubsectionC, of theCityCodeof theCityofMomence,
Illinois ishereby repealed.
SECTION2:
That there isherebyadded to theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois the following
paragraphunder and in substitution for Title 8, Chapter 4, Section20, SubsectionC, of the
CityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois hereinabove repealed.

License; AllGolf Cart/utility/off highway vehicles shall be licensed by
registering, showingproof of ownership, having allmunicipal bills/fines
paid, and completing appropriate forms for said vehicle annually, during
designated times, at the police department, in themonths ofApril andMay.
A nonrefundable registration fee of Twenty-five andNo/100 ($25.00)
Dollars shall be paid by the owner at the time of application for registration.
Proof of insurance is required at time of registration.
SECTION3:
That there isherebyadded to theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois the following line
items inTitle 8, Chapter 4, Section20, SubsectionB, Paragraph 5, of theCityCodeof the
CityofMomence, Illinois.
(l)RecreationalOff-HighwayVehicles are required tohave anon-straddle seat.
(m)RecreationalOff-HighwayVehicleheight andweight compliance– less than64” (sixty four inches)wide
and less than2000 (two thousand) pounds.
SECTION 4:
The provisions and sections of this ordinance shall be deemed separable
and the invalidityof anyportionof this ordinance shall not affect the
validityof the remainder.
