EXECUTIVESESSION
AldermanKupferermade amotion toenter intoExecutiveSession todiscuss personnel,
possibly to comeout and do business. AldermanStraley seconded themotionwithAldermen
Straley, NovaMetz, Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz voting yes. AldermanCook exited
Council Meeting via teleconference. Council entered into executive sessionat 7:58P.M. Returned
fromExecutiveSession at 8:43P.M.
Mayor Porter requested amotion to allowAldermanCook toattend themeeting via
teleconferencebecause of family obligations. AldermanStraleymade amotion to allowAlderman
Cook toattend themeeting via teleconference. AldermanNovaMetz seconded themotion. Motion
carriedwith 5 ayes 0 nays . Mayor Porter declaredAldermanCook present.
Mayor Porter stated that the reason for ExecutiveSessionwas thepotential hiringof full time
police officers. Discussion ultimately came tohiringone full time police officer and to look further
into thePoliceDepartment budget to potentiallymake adecisionon a second hireat a later date.

Mayor Portermentioned the importanceof attending tomorrow'sParkDistrict Boardmeeting
as it relates to theGladiolus Festival Board's request for a rental contract for IslandPark. The
meeting is beingheldat theParkDistrict Field houseat 7:00P.M.
