ANORDINANCEAMENDINGTITLE 2, BOARDSAND
COMMISSIONS, CHAPTER 4, PLANCOMMISSIONTO
MODIFY ITSSTRUCTUREANDTOCOMBINE ITS
FUNCTIONSWITHTHEZONINGBOARDOFAPPEALS.
WHEREAS, for some time, theCityofMomence has had a separatePlanCommission
and a separateZoningBoard ofAppeals; and
WHEREAS,many communities have decided that, for efficiencypurposes, it is desirable
to, in effect, combine those two entities. The generalmanner inwhich this is accomplished is to
provide that themembers of theZoningBoard ofAppeals shall also serve asmembers of the
PlanCommission. This language onlyneeds to be inserted in the section of theCode dealing
with thePlanCommission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ITORDAINEDBYTHEMAYORANDCITYCOUNCIL
OFTHECITYOFMOMENCE, KANKAKEECOUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION1: Title 2, Boards andCommissions, Chapter 4, PlanCommission, shall be
entirelymodified so that the entire content of that chapter shall read, as follows:

ZONINGBOARDOFAPPEALS:
APlanCommission for theCityofMomence is hereby created as a seven (7)
memberBoard. The duties of thePlanCommission shall be those established in
the zoning regulations of theCity and shall be the same as thosewhich are
established as the powers of thePlanCommissionunder State statutes. The
Members of theZoningBoard ofAppeals shall serve as theMembers of thePlan
Commission.
