ALDERMANICREPORTS
AldermanLesyna: Discuss and voteonTax Levy. AldermanLesyna stated that Council will
vote on theTax LevyOrdinance. Theprocess of a tax levy beginswith thepassage and filingof the
annual appropriationordinance. This ordinancewas passed, publishedand filedon June17, 2015.
The secondpart of the tax levy process concerns compliancewith the truth in taxation legislation.

Stewart Diamond, theDecember 7

meetinghadanannouncement of tax percentage increase,
amount and start of the 20day period beforepassage. In combinationwith an emergencymeeting
onDecember 8, 2015, amotion to ratify the tax levy estimate amount from thepreviousmeeting
was unanimously passed. The final step of the process is to voteon theadoption of the tax levy. By
statute, after passage, the tax levymust bedropped off at theCountyClerk’s officeby endof day,
Tuesday, December 29, 2015. The levywill be date-stamped; anentrywill bemade ina file
detailing timeand the individual delivering it. AldermanLesynamade amotion topass theTax Levy
Ordinance. AldermanDenton seconded themotionwithAldermenDenton, Navratil, NovaMetz,
Kupferer, Cook, Lesyna and JohnMetz voting yes. Ordinance#805.
