OLDBUSINESS
AldermanLesyna reitereatedwhat CityAttorneyStewart Diamond stated regardingwhether it is either
necessaryor appropriate for theCity to takea formal voteonadecisionnot toamendanordinance. Mr. Stewart
stated that there is no legal requirement whatever for agovernmental body to takeanyaction to let thepublic know
or put upon theofficial recordadecision to refrain from amendinganordinance. Absent a special circumstance,
no legislativebody is required to takea formal action to reject anymatter whichhas beenpresented to it. No
formal action, however, by theCityCouncil, is required in this situation.
