NOW, THEREFORE,

SECTION1:
That Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 1, of theCityCodeof theCityofMomence,
Illinois entitledBUILDINGCODESADOPTED, ishereby repealed.
SECTION2:
That there is herebyadded to theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois
the following sectionunder and in substitution forTitle 4, Chapter 1,
Section 1, of theCityCodeof theCityofMomence, Illinois hereinabove
repealed.

(A)
: Definitions: For the purpose of this chapter, and building codes, the following
terms, phrases, words and their derivations shall have themeaning given herein.
When not inconsistentwith the context, words used in the present tense include
the future;words in the plural include the singular;words in the singular include
the plural; and theword "shall" ismandatorywhile theword "may" is permissive.
OCCUPANT:Also known as lessee, renter, inhabitant, tenant, landlord, owner,
and/or responsible party for anypremises in theCity.
(B)Scope: Thepurposeof this section is toprovide rules and regulations for the
construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use andoccupancy,
location, repair andmaintenance, of buildings and structureswithin thecity.
©BuildingCodes: The technical codes listedbelow areherebyadopted as thebuilding
codes for the cityofMomence and are incorporatedherein as fullyas if set out at length.
