ANORDINANCEAMENDINGANORDINANCECONCERNINGADOPTED
BUILDINGCODES
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has established an
ordinance concerningbuilding codes adopted; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the
safety andwell beingof its citizens, inhabitants, and all other persons
within theCity limits of theCityofMomence, Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has considered the fact
that the 2012 edition of the International PropertyMaintenanceCode, and
the 2012 edition of the International BuildingCode, each concernedwith
regulating and governing the conditions andmaintenance of all property,
buildings, and structures; byproviding the standards for supplied utilities
and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure
that structures are safe, sanitary, and fit for occupation and use; and the
condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and
use and the demolition of such existing structures in theCityofMomence,
Illinois; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees should
be adopted; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has considered the fact
that the 2012 edition of the International Residential Code, regulating and
governing the construction, alteration,movement, enlargement,
replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal, and demolition of
detached one- and two-familydwellings andmultiple single-family
dwellings (townhouses) notmore than three stories in heightwith separate
means of egress in theCityofMomence, Illinois; providing for the
issuance of permits and collection of fees should be adopted; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, has considered the fact
that the 2012 edition of the International FireCode, regulating and
governing the safeguardingof life and property from fire and explosion
hazards arising form the storage, handling and use of hazardous
substances,materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or
property in the occupancyof buildings andpremises in theCityof
Momence, Illinois; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of
fees, should be adopted.
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCity
Code, specificallyunder a portion of theCode known asTitle 4, Chapter
1, Section 1, BUILDINGCODESADOPTED.
