RESOLUTION
APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH
THE
STATEOF ILLINOIS AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR THEWASHINGTON
STREET
STREETSCAPE
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS,
The
City
of
N4omence
has determined that
there is
need
to
repair
deteriorated
sidewalk
and install streetscape enhancements alongWashlngton Street
to
improvement
pedestrian
access and beautify the
corridor,
and
WHEREAS, said project has been approved by
the lllinois
Department of Transportation
to
receive Federal lllinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) Funds
for
80%
of
participating
Construction and
Construction
Engineering
costsi
and
WHERAS,
in
order
to
obtain federal funding
of
local
highway improvements,
the
City
of
l\4omence
is required,
under lllinois
Department
of Transportation
policies,
to enter
into
an
agreement
for
the
funding
of
said local improvementsi
and
WHERAS, the attached intergovernmental agreement between the State
oi
Illinols and
the
City
of
Momence defines
the
Local
Agency
participation in
the
improvement and
the
estimated local share
of
the cost of the improvement, said agreement attached hereto and hereby made
a
part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE
BE
lT
RESOLVED, by
the
City
of
lvlomence,
lllinois, that the
attached
intergovernmental agreement
is
hereby approved
and that there
is
hereby appropriated
the
Local
Agency share
sum
of
one
hundred and
forty eight thousand dollars
($148,000)
from
the
City
General
Fundi
and
BE
lT
FURTHER RESOLVED, that
this
project is hereby
designated
as Section 10-00059-00-
LT: and
BE lT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the
l\4ayor
is
hereby authorized
to
execute said Agreement.
