AMENDING
ANORDINANCE CONCERNING SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT
IN
TIIE
CITY
OF
MOMENCE,ILLINOIS
WHEREAS,
the
City Council
of
the
City of
Momence,Iliinois
has
established
an
ordinance
concerning
Special Assessment;
and
WIIEREAS,
the
City Council of
the
City of Momence,
Illinois,
is
involved
withmonitoring
the
City
Code
of
the
City
of
Momence;
and
WHEREAS, the
City
Council
of
the
City
of
Momence,
Illinois
has determined
the
ordinance
concerning Special
Assessment
has
become outdated,
and
should be deleted:
NOW
THEREFORE,
be
it
ordained
by
the
City Council of
the
City
of
Momence,
Illinois
as
follows:
SECTION
1:
That
Title
1,
Chapter
13,
Section 2,
of
the
City
Code
of
the
City of Momence,
Illinois
is
hereby repealed.
l-13-2: SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT
:
All
contracts
for
the
making
of
any
public improvement
in
the
city
shall paid
for
in whole or
in
part
by
special
assessment
or
special
taxation
for
any
work
or
public
improvement. When
the
expense
thereof shall
exceed
the
sum
of
two
thousand
five
hundred
dollars
($2,500), the
contract shall be
let
to
the
fowest responsible
bidder therefor,
in
the
manner
hereinafter
described,
which
said
contract shall
be approved
by
the
majority
of
the
council.
Provided,
that
contracts
may
be
entered
into
by
the
city
clerk
or
any other
officer
of
the
city,
or
member
of
the
council, without
advertising
for
bids when
authorizedby
vote
of
two-thirds

of
the aldermen elected to the
city council,
by
resolution.

SECTION
2:
The
provisions
and sections
of
this ordinance shall
be deemed separable
and
the
invalidity of
any
portion of
this ordinance shall
not
affect the
validity
of
the
remainder.
SECTION
3: That
this
ordinance
shall be
in
full
force
and
effect after its
passage,
adoption,
and
publication in
pamphlet
form,
as
required by law.
