ANORDINANCECONCERNINGPARKINGOFMOTORIZED
VEHICLESONRESIDENTIALAREAS
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois desires to ensure the safety andwell beingof its
citizens, inhabitants, and all other persons travelingon the streetswithin theCity limits of theCity
ofMomence, Illinois; and
WHEREAS,
theCityofMomence, Illinois, has determined that anordinance concerningparkingof motorized
vehicles on residential areas should be added; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to add to theCityCode, section20, under
Title 8, Chapter 2, whichwill be titled “
PARKINGOFMOTORIZEDVEHICLES”.
NOWTHEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois, under Title 8, Chapter 2,
Section 20, titled
“PARKINGOFMOTORIZEDVEHICLES”.
8-2-20: Parking ofMotorizedVehicles
:
(A)
To park, store or keep anymotorized vehicle in any rear, side, or front setbackonprivate propertyongrass
is prohibited. This provision does not include recreational vehicles, golf carts, and / or non-highway
vehicles.
(B)
Loading, unloading, visiting, provided no type of hazard is created, withprior notification and approval by
the police department, will be permitted.
SECTION 2:
The provisions and sections of this ordinance shall be deemed separable and the invalidityof any
portionof this ordinance shall not affect the validityof the remainder.
SECTION 3:
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication as
required by law.
