other public agencies in theState of Illinois are prepared to execute, in conjunctionwith this
Municipality, in order to provide and receive law enforcementmutual aid services, as set forth in
the “LawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement,” and;
WHEREAS,
it is the anticipation, and intention of thisMunicipality, that this “Law
EnforcementMutualAidAgreement”will be executed in counterparts as other public agencies
choose to enter into the “LawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement” and strengthen the number
of signatorypublic agencies, and resources, available from those public agencies, and;
WHEREAS,
it is the anticipation, and intent of thisMunicipality, that the “LawEnforcement
MutualAidAgreement”will continue to garner support, and acceptance from other currently
unidentified public agencies, whowill enter into the “LawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement”
over time, and be considered as if all signatorypublic agencies to the “LawEnforcementMutual
AidAgreement” had executed the “LawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement” at the same time.
Now, therefore, be it resolvedby thisMunicipality as follows:
1.
ThisResolution shall be known as, andmayhereafter be referred to as, theResolution
Authorizing theExecution of aLawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement and the
Existence andFormation of the Illinois LawEnforcementAlarmSystem by
Intergovernmental Cooperation.
2.
TheResolutionAuthorizing theExecution of aLawEnforcementMutual AidAgreement
and theExistence andFormation of the Illinois LawEnforcementAlarmSystem by
Intergovernmental Cooperation shall be, and hereby is, enacted as follows:
a.
Authorization to enter into aCertainAgreement
. TheMayor of thisMunicipality
is hereby authorized to sign, execute and deliver the agreement known as the “Law
EnforcementMutualAidAgreement,” and thereby enter into an intergovernmental
agreement with other public agencies of theState of Illinois, as are likewisewilling to
enter into said “LawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement,” and recognize the
existence, and formation of the Illinois LawEnforcementAlarmSystem as set forth
in the said “LawEnforcementMutualAidAgreement.”
b.
SavingsClause.
If any section, paragraph, clause, or provision, of thisResolution
shall be held invalid, the invalidity thereof, shall not affect anyof the provisions of
thisResolution.
c.
EffectiveDate.
ThisResolution shall be in full force and effect from, and after its
passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
