ANORDINANCEAMENDINGTHEWATERANDSEWERCONNECTIONFEE
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswants to promote new constructionwithin theCity
limits; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has established awater and sewer tap in fee
ordinance; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois is chargedwith the continued administration and
oversight of theCityCodeBook; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois has determined thewater and sewer connection fee
should be reduced; and
WHEREAS,
theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinoiswishes to amend theCityCode, specificallyunder a
portionof theCode known as Title 7, Chapter 6, Section 1, Subsection1, titled “WATERCONNECTIONFEE” and
Title 7, Chapter 6, Section 2, Subsection2, titled “SEWERCONNECTIONFEE”.
NOW, THEREFORE,
be it ordained by theCityCouncil of theCityofMomence, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1:
That Title 7, Chapter 6, Section 1, Subsection1, of theCityCode of theCity ofMomence, Illinois, is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2:
That there is hereby added to theCityCode of theCityofMomence, Illinois, inTitle 7, Chapter 6,
Section 1, Subsection1, titled “WATERCONNECTIONFEE”
7-6-1-1:WATERCONNECTIONFEE:
All persons desiring to connect or tap onto thewater line of the city shall pay to the city clerk the appropriate sum
from the table at the end of this sectionprior to any such connection and shall obtain the approval of the city
building inspector as to the location andmethod of tapping onto saidwater line prior to any connection thereto. No
tapping shall be approved until the cityhas further established that thewater so being supplied shall be metered in
an appropriate fashion to allow the city to establishon amonthlybasis the amount ofwater consumed at said
premises. Allmaterials and installationby a licensed plumber are the responsibilityof said persondesiring to
connect or tap onto the citywater line.
