A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOMENCE, ILLINOIS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO RETIRE POLICE SERVICE DOG “PETE” FROM THE MOMENCE
POLICE DEPARTMENT AND ENTRUSTING POLICE SERVICE DOG (PSD) “PETE” TO THE CARE AND
OWNERSHIPOFHISHANDLER, FORMERMOMENCEPOLICEOFFCIERRAYMONDT. NAVRATIL
WHEREAS,
PSD “Pete” has renderedmore than six years of faithful and dedicated service to the CityofMomence
; and
WHEREAS,
PSD “Pete” is retiringdue to the resignationof his handler; and
WHEREAS,
his handler, former Momence Police Officer Raymond Navratil has offered to provide PSD “Pete” a
permanent retirement home and assume all responsibilities accompanyingpet ownership;
NOW, THEREFORE,
the Mayor and the City Council of Momence, Illinois resolve that PSD “Pete” be retired
from active service with the Momence Police Department; and theMayor is authorized to enter into an agreement
transferring care, custody and ownership of PSD “Pete” to formerMomence PoliceOfficer Raymond T. Navratil. A
copyof the agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated by this reference.
